HIV Testing

NUIHC provides free, confidential or anonymous HIV testing and counseling with results available the same day in Omaha and Lincoln.  We can test anyone age 15 and older regardless of race and ethnicity at both locations.  HIV testing includes a brief counseling session to discuss potentially high risk behaviors and gives you a chance to ask questions in privacy.

We also provide testing for Hepatitis C at both locations.

National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day was first observed in 2007. This day is observed on the first day of Spring each year. The 2016 observance was recognized on March 20th.

Each year, we host an HIV testing event to celebrate National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.  This event takes place at NUIHC’s Omaha location the Friday before National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.

The purpose of this event is to encourage people to get educated and to learn more about HIV/AIDS and its impact in our community, work together to encourage testing options and HIV counseling in the Omaha metro; and help decrease the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS.  People of all nationalities and citizenships are invited to attend, receive a test, and/or participate in the activities.
