The purpose of our Eagle Heights Transitional Housing Program is to help Native American men and women transition to independent living from a residential treatment setting. Eagle Heights is located in Omaha, Nebraska.
Eagle Heights is designed to assist clients in maintaining sobriety by placing them in a safe, therapeutic living environment. We provide outpatient mental health and substance abuse counseling, with a focus on relapse prevention and daily living skills. We also assist clients in accessing healthcare services, securing employment, and becoming productive members of the community.
We have five transition houses to accommodate ten clients. Each home is secure, and is equipped with a complete kitchen, tablet computers, and television/basic cable. Utilities are paid by NUIHC. Clients are responsible for a $300.00 per month program fee, one-third ($100.00) of which goes into a savings account and is returned to them upon discharge.
To be admitted into our Eagle Heights Transitional Living program, you must:
- Be 19+ years of age
- Be enrolled or eligible for enrollment in a federally recognized tribe
- Have a discharge summary from another treatment program showing that you completed the program and recommending a sober living environment or transitional/halfway house.
